The Shape of Things
by Kayla Mattes and Justin Seibert
February 3, 2017

Front/Space is proud to present a new collaborative project by Justin Seibert and Kayla Mattes exploring personality through data collection. Loosely inspired by Timothy Leary's Interpersonal Circumplex, The Shape of Things is a 24-question quiz that generates a unique shape in response to details about an individual's personality. Each shape produced by the quiz can be printed on paper and folded into a three-dimensional object.

The quiz draws influence from a variety of pseudo-scientific sources and digital distractions ranging from fake news and Buzzfeed quizzes to astrology charts and political twitter feeds. While taking the quiz is intended as a personal experience, The Shape of Things aims to form an overall picture of our world in its current state. Results from the quiz will be constructed and displayed at Front/Space in Kansas City, MO.

Visit circumplex.us to determine the shape you’re in.
